The Dutch foundation has been incorporated on 23 July 2019 in Almere, The Netherlands.
The board:
- Chairman: Jan van Koningsveld
- Quaestor: Peter van der Horst
- Secretary: Ton Apeldoorn
The inspiration for the creation of the foundation and formulation of its mission was a visit made by Jan van Koningsveld to various countries in Africa, while he was providing technical advice to the local governments on collection of taxes and battling tax fraud. There he got in touch with local people who were making dedicated efforts to achieve a better future for the so-called street children, among others by providing food and medical care.
At first, Jan has supported these loval people frequently financially, so they could achieve this objective. This created a personal bond, which led to an increase of the request for assistance. So, a necessity arose to create a foundation, which could work more structurally to provide help.
Our vision is, that children are innocent, and that each child is entitled to education, daily meals and a safe place to stay.
Our mission is to, in cooperation with local people, to give street children in Africa a better future.
Our goal is to provide each child with a hot meal, education, a safe place to stay and the necessary medical treatments, such as treatment against Malaria.
In order to realise the best possible assessment of request for help, the foundation strives to involve at least one local social worker in the project.
